Healthy Cooking Method
We all are fond of eating paranthas in our breakfast. We might get bored of eating that same parantha stuffed up with radish, potatoes and all. Over the past few decades, oats have become a very popular “health food”. People consume it in the form of sweet oats or ready to cook masala oats available in market in different flavours which some like, but others may not like the taste.
Oats are loaded with dietary fiber which provides many health benefits like it lowers down the level of bad cholesterol (ldl). It reduces the risk of coronary artery disease. Consuming oats works as medication for hypertensive patients as it lowers the blood pressure. It is also good for diabetic patient. Great for digestion and improves the immune health. Majorly, it reduces the risk of obesity which is termed as a chronic disease and it also gives you satisfying feeling.
Here, I am sharing a new idea of parantha which is filled with home prepared masala oats mixture and is easy to cook like other stuffed paranthas.
- Wheat Flour (atta)
- 2 tbspn oats
- ½ small chopped onion
- Coreinder leaves finely chopped
- Salt as per taste
- Black pepper (kali mirch)
- Coreinder powder (sukha dhaniya)
- Cumin seeds (Jeera powder)
- Mango powder (amchur)
- Olive oil
Recipe: How to Cook
Step 1: Knead wheat flour with enough water . Knead it again to a soft dough. Smear a few drops of oil to the dough. Cover and set aside for at least 20 mins.
Step 2: In a bowl add 2 tbspn of oats. Add all spices with chopped onions and coriander leaves (make sure onions and leaves are finely chopped so that it shouldn’t come out when filled in your dough).
Step 3: Now, pour some water approx ¼ glass (measuring 250 ml) in a bowl containing the oats mixture and mix it nicely..
Step 4: Now, prepare small dumplings (ball shape) of the prepared mixture in step 2 and step 3.
Step5: Now, make another dumpling of the dough ( prepared in step 1)and fill the prepared dumpling in it.
Step 6: Now, flour the rolling area. Flatten a ball filled with mixture and sprinkle flour. Roll it to a round even layer .
Step 7: Heat the non stick pan and place the parantha on it.
Here is your oats parantha ready hot and yummy......
Enjoy with mint sauce and small bowl of curd. A breakfast which will keep you full for longer and you will feel active.
